Copper is a commonly metal used in the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> manufacture of wire conductor for electrical installations because it has electrical conductivity and high thermal conductivity, and have able to form good. This research was conducted to determine the influence of cold rolling and heating process of copper corrosion rate. This research will study and compare the corrosion rate of copper that has been subjected to deformation due to cold rolling with reduction of 0%, 25%, 75% without continuing the process <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> of heating than that experienced copper cold rolling followed the heating process of 600oC for 24 hours in the furnace. Characteristic microstructure between the two treatments were observed using metallographic examination, weight changes that occur in the specimen, hardness and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> corrosion rate calculations using potentiodynamic polarization test. The results showed that for copper reduction and the results will harden without heating because of the strain hardening, so it will increase its strength. Meanwhile, copper is the result of cold rolling and heat would have been visible recrystallization since the formation of new grains, which flat has become rounded. text |
