Along with the increase in number of world mining facilities, the need of pipeline in mine workings is also increasing. Flow rate and characteristic of the slurry being transported relied heavily on the pipeline design. The safety of the pipeline that’s being used should also be guaranteed. Because of the reasons, which are to get the specified slurry characteristic and the guaranteed pipeline safety, flow and <br /> <br /> <br /> pipeline stress analysis should be conducted. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this final project, these things stated below had been conducted, which are hydraulic modeling and analysis, pipe wall thickness calculation, modeling of pipe with orifice with the help of Gambit, slurry flow simulation in pipe with orifice with the help of Fluent, pipeline system modeling with the help of Autopipe, Stress analysis in accordance to ASME B31.11 Slurry Transportation Piping System, modification of pipeline system, and parameter studying in accordance to varying pipeline condition. <br /> <br /> <br /> The hydraulic analysis and slurry flow simulation with fluent stated the result, that the used of as many as 15 orifice, will increase the solid concentrastion of the plant with total tailing throughput 3167 t/h to the level of 25.17% of solid concentration. The result for wall thickness calculation according to ASME B31.11 stated that a thickness valued 0.403 inch is needed for this pipeline <br /> <br /> <br /> system. For parameter study in pipe stress analysis, failures would occur if earthquake with the force of 0.45 g is subjected to the modified pipeline system. This earthquake force will result in pipeline stress with the value as high as 32375 psi, while the allowable occasional pipeline stress is below 30800 psi. text
