Summary:Currently, science and technology development has brought changes in the energy field, especially in energy saving. Energy saving has been a major concern in the world, therefore advance technology development with efficient use of energy are created. One of the technology developments can be shown through the invention of gearbox which has low-friction and low-vibration ability. <br /> <br /> <br /> The main subject of this research is lubricant, a liquid chemical which directly interact with gearbox, which will be observe with the aim of reducing the amount of gearbox friction. An optimal lubricant filling will prevent gearbox from oil churning losses and wasting lubricant. This research purpose is to identify the quantity of the <br /> <br /> <br /> gearbox lubrication towards its friction losses. The research has shows that every lubricant has different friction losses characteristic. The losses of the lubricant diversity are tremendous, and it can enhance the friction capacity in a certain extend. As a result, higher number of lubricant viscosity will enlarge the friction losses ability, however it will not linier to raise viscosity.
