This research is aiming to identify the phases in Cu-Al-Ni shape memory alloy. Heat <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> treatment was performed using air and water cooling to reveal the phase transformation occurred in the Cu-Al-Ni alloy. It was observed that austenite, &#946; transformed into martensite &#946;’, martensite &#947;’, or mixture of &#946;’ and &#947;’ depending on the chemistry of &#946; and the cooling media. Laboratory equipment of xray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy were employed in this research. text
