The biggest challange for entering public service sector is the limitation of public bubget that will directly influence to the source of revenues for a firm which is performing this business. <br />

Aplication of entrepreunial process trough establishing a not-for-profit organization, called Bandung City Maintenace, is an effort in answering those challange. This action was choosed in order to make easier in accessing sources of funding from another institution (i.e. donor institution). Beside, this is also an effort to make rapport and networking with other not-for-profit organizations and profit organizations along with developing citizen participation. <br />

Business model of Bandung City Maintenance is providing specialized public service in city maintenance. This product must be created first due to most of city-wide maintenance in Indonesia are not yet fully formed as an integrated system under one unit of management. In order to make it happen, colaborative strategy will be adopted as a backbone in implementing strategic action plan for organization development and it’s business growth along the initial phase of organization. Bandung City Maintenance will develop strategic alliance and partnership with any stakeholders who has interested to formulize city maintenance as a city-wide integrated system that can be managed as a business like sector. <br />

To make the organization perform and growth based on the organization’s reason of existence, for the first three years as an initial growth phase, Bandung City Maintenance will formulize city maintenance as an urban scale system focusing on one public sector, namely city road associated with other public utilities and limited on two aspects only: street drainage and trees along the road (urban forest). For this activity the organization will find-out a sponsor and will make close-collaboration work with one City Government (Bandung or other City Government in Indonesia). <br />

The initial organization’s growth phase is also a transition phase for the organization in transforming not-for-profit organization into a profit organization. This thesis only elaborate the main reasons why non-for-profit organization choosed to establihed as initial effort in performing city maintenance business, includes it’s business model and strategic action plans for the future of organization. Formulized system of a city-wide scale and manageble city maintenance at the least cost is not the result of this thesis – the system will be an end product to be sell along the initial growth phase of organization. |
