Description
Summary:Gas lift is commonly used in many oil fields that have insufficient reservoir pressure to lift the oil at certain production rate. In this process, gas is injected at the injection point, which will allow higher oil rate to be lifted to the surface. In order to achieve the optimum production, the position of injection valve should be known. Here, an optimization model is constructed to find the optimum position of injection valve in order to obtain the maximum oil production. We obtain the numerical solution of the Gas Lift Performance Curve with Runge-Kutta 4th order, which is represented with a cubic Spline approximation. The objective function is chosen as the profit function, and the corresponding constraints consist of boundary value problems related to ow equations from the reservoir to the

well head.
