The residential is a form of human effort in modernizes their living. Nowadays, residential area becomes one important area that planned in a land usage. Land requirement for residential area itself is increasing as population growth and area development. To create an healthy, safe, comfortable, and sustainable residential environment, then in the area have to be supported with adequate basic infrastructure. In Undang-Undang Nomor 4 tahun 1992 tentang Perumahan dan Permukiman explanation, mention that primary basic infrastructure for residential areas able to be functioned are: 1) road network for human and goods mobility, prevent fire propagation and to create regular space and building; 2) waste water disposal channel network and waste disposal location for environment healthiness; 3) rain fall channel network for drainage and local flood prevention. Besides the basic infrastructures, residential area is also requiring supporting facility which functioned in economic development (business/shopping building that not tainting the environment), social culture (such as public service and governmental, education and health, liturgy, recreation and sports, cemetery, and park). The analysis of residential location suitability is performed using qualitative and quantitative method. Quantitative method is required in data analyzing and scoring normalization of variables that affecting residential location determination. Meanwhile, qualitative method is required in analyzing various policy information and others supporting information in order to formulate the recommendation of land use guidance and area study residential location determination. Analysis result of residential area location suitability for most of Cimahi area shows that Cimahi can be planned as residential area with category of very good, good and fair. Based on location suitability evaluation, the area study is harmonized with land use plan (RTRW) particularly residential area plan. The difference is at the north Cimahi, Kelurahan Cipangeran, where in land use plan, the area is planned as residential area meanwhile the analysis result of the area shows poor category if the area planned as land use plan. Its because the area is a conservation area and included in water preservation area. text
