The objective of this study is to predict lateral distribution of the gas content reservoir, by ascertain reservoir properties of Minex Field using Simultaneous Inversion. This method inverts partial stack data (near, mid and far offset stack) simultaneously to yield information about P-Impedance, S-Impedance and density. In order to obtain reservoir properties that correlate with fluid content in Minex wells we do some crossplots, as a sensitivity analysis of well data. From the sensitivity analysis, we have concluded that the best parameter to predict the presence of gas is Fluid Impedance (FI). Fluid Impedance is a Poisson Impedance attribute that is derived from a combination of the P-and S-impedance values and is a good hydrocarbon indicator. Based on this research we found that gas-saturated carbonate would be separated from wet reservoir with Fluid Impedance value lower than 2250 m/s*g/cc. Therefore, Fluid Impedance is used to predict distribution of the gas-saturated carbonate. Low Fluid Impedance anomaly is not present in Minex-3 well, which confirmed the carbonate water content in this well. text |
