This method can produce high strength in the interface. <br /> <br /> <br /> From testing of parameters have been found some important parameters of flow casting method such as preheat temperature, pouring temperature, pouring time, sand ratio, slope of inlet or outlet, and elevation of pouring. Because of its values are already optimum; pouring temperature, sand ratio, slope of inlet or outlet and elevation of pouring are fixed parameters. The other parameters, preheat temperature and pouring time, are variable parameters. Both of those parameters strongly influence the quality of repair result. So, it is very important to study about them. <br /> <br /> <br /> Repairing process of flow casting method involves of melting and solidification phenomena. The phase transformation is an essential part in solidification process. The phase transformation is strongly influence by cooling rate and chemical composition. The low cooling rate will produce gray cast iron; otherwise the high cooling rate will produces white cast iron. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result of this research is cooling curves for preheat temperature with range 100 oC to 700 oC and pouring time with range 5s to 30s. From the cooling curve was obtained the cooling rate. After that, cooling rate used to predict the type of micro structures (gray cast iron or white cast iron). <br /> <br /> <br /> This research also proved that sand ratio is range 8 to 12 does not significantly affect by the cooling rate in flow casting method. text
