The great Mosque of Kasepuhan conceptually and arcitecturally differs from other mosques that were built in Java from the same period. The differences were shown in the use of symmetrical forms that were arranged based on a circular axis or on the regularity of walls, column, doors, windows, ventilation and ornamental decoration. The mass of the building also has an East-West plan with the Kaba as the point of reference i.e. 15 degrees shift from the Nort - South orientation line or the axis between the town square (alun-alun) and the palace. The symmetrical from was regularly applied in the architectures that developed in the early Renaissance period (15 century AD. ) in Europe. It could be assumed that the symmetrical concept that was found in the great Mosque of Kasepuhan could be also universally found in many cultures. text
