As a result of less-comprehensive information <br /> <br /> <br /> in geometry dan dimension selection of retraction spring, the treatment process of orthodontic cases become less effective and less efficient. Therefore, an efficient <br /> <br /> <br /> and effective method for geometry and dimension selection of orthodontic retraction spring is needed. For that purpose, an engineering approach to the geometry selection of retraction spring is introduced. Validated numerical approaches are used to analysis the effect of T-loop orthodontic retraction spring dimension toward its forces and moments resultant characteristics. As a result, qualitative as well as semi quantitative information about sensitivity of each retraction spring design parameters could be obtain. <br /> <br /> <br /> From qualitative analysis, parameters which have major influential in force are L2 & L8, L3 & L7, L4 & L6, and gable; in momen are L1 & L9, L9 (anchorage) and gable; and in M/F ratio are L1 & L9, L2 & L8, L3 & L7, L4 & L6, L9 (anchorage) dan offset. These results are expected to be able to help orthodontists in selecting retraction springs geometry more accurately, so the treatment could become more effective and efficient. text |
