REVIEW OF GEOLOGICAL CONCEPT IN RANDEGAN AREA FOR EXPLORATION DEEPER TARGET AS A POTENTIAL NEW PLAY IN BABADAN SUB BASIN

Historical exploration Randegan Area started in 1937 by BPM in the well Randegan (RDG) - 27 with the findings of oil and gas from Cibulakan Formation and Cisubuh Formation. Pertamina continued exploration and development drilling in Randegan high with well Randegan (RDG) - 36, 37, 38 in the year 197...

Pertamina continued exploration and development drilling in Randegan high with well Randegan (RDG) - 36, 37, 38 in the year 1970 to 1973 and continued until 1986 as many as 11 wells with oil and gas from the Cibulakan and Cisubuh Formation. The results of 2D seismic investigation to the north of Randegan high in 2003 followed by the oil and gas discovery of Cisubuh, Parigi, Cibulakan, and Talang akar Formation in RDU-1. Succesfull discovery in RDU-1 continued with 3D seismic accuistion in late 2008. In 2011-2013 drilling KYM - 1 and RLY-1 success to find oil and gas from Cisubuh, Parigi, Cibulakan, and Talang Akar Formation. Geological evaluation of exploration deeper target has performed in tectonicstratigraphy approach to identify potential reservoir development. Babadan sub-basin area is divided into 5 units tectonicstratigraphy, namely pre rift, rift early, mid rift, late rift, and post-rift. Evaluation of tectonicstratigraphy, paleogeographic and biostratigraphy indicates deltaic facies, shallow marine fan, prograding shorface, sorface mudstone, and platform-ramp carbonate. Potential play in Babadan sub-basin can be categorized into 3 play, ie play deltaic in early rift phase and mid rift, play shallow marine fan in early rift phase and mid rift, and play a combination of structural and stratigraphic facies prograding shoreface text
