Summary: | Rolling bearings are rotating components that commonly encountered in industry. Shock pulse measurement method at a gearbox often encounters problems when used to predict the bearing condition. The result of this measurement often indicates wrong bearing condition that inconsistent with the actual bearing condition.
The objective of this research is to determine whether shock pulse method can detect the condition of bearings in the gearbox at various levels of load and speed. This research measures a new roller bearing and a defects one in the gearbox with various levels of load and speed using the vibration and shock pulse method. Shock pulse and vibration measurement are measured using four acquisition data, that are Leonova Infinity, Picoscope, Daqpad, and MSA
The result of this research shows that the shock pulse measurement results on new bearing in gearbox, shock pulse method can show an indication of the results that are inconsistent with the actual bearing condition. Similarly for the defect bearing. Results from both measurements are then compared and analyzed. The result of this comparison showed no significant difference so that no meaningful conclusions can be drawn. |
