Summary:The Act No. 32 of 2009 about the protection and management of the environment has been mandated to conduct an inventory of environment and the determination of the ecoregions. The ecoregions are determined based on similarity of the characteristics of the landscapes, watersheds, climate, flora and fauna, socio-cultural, economic, institutional, community and environmental inventory results. The ecoregions based on spatial data and an inventory of environmental data as attribute data requiring a system which has certain standards and can manage this data systematically. Geographic information systems (GIS) which has the capability of storing, managing, analyzing, and presenting spatial data and attribute data has a role in managing spatial data from the following ecoregions with data attributes. One of important elements in the management of spatial data for GIS and attributes is spatial database system. This undergraduated thesis make an open standard in building ekoregion spatial database system. This database system is expected to help store and manage spatial data and atribut data of ecoregion systematically. The result of this research are composed of open standard for building ekoregion spasial database system in Indonesia using PostgreSQL / Post GIS software.
