Summary:Gas turbine component repair business has so many changes and improvement in the recent times, it becomes much more competitive. The existence of new competitors with lower price caused some changes in the way of competition in this industry. This problem start to affect the company in decreasing of sales growth and net income growth. Dealling with this situation company shall start to develop business strategies to maintain business growth and orientate to the future of the company. This problem can be solved by developing new repair services product that can generate higher profit margin and technically has not been acquired by the competitors. This new repair services development should have several analysis prior implementation such as; market analysis, technical capability analysis and economic analysis. Be side the feasibility of the mentioned analysis, the risks that possibly occur during this new product development shall be identified and the anticipation plans shall be defined. This final project focused on the development of gas turbine bucket component repair services at PT. XYZ as one of the affiliation company of a well known gas turbine manufacturer. Bucket component was selected because it can generate higher profit margin and technologically <br /> <br /> <br /> has not been acquired by competitors. The companie’s capability and it’s technical experiences in providing gas turbine components repair services are the foundation for bucket component repair services development. Economic feasibility study was conducted by projecting the sales and additional investment that is required for bucket repair services development. Economic calculation was conducted by using Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return and Payback Period methods. Based on the financial calculation of this research, the NPV is 3.1 billion rupiahs at 10% <br /> <br /> <br /> discount rate and IRR is 22.27% for 5 years period. The payback period is 3.32 years. Those results indicate that this project is feasible to be implemented. <br /> <br /> <br /> The implementation of bucket component repair development will start by defining the project schedule and preparing all required resources and also defining the controllig methods so this project development can be executed on time with minimum risks.
