Summary: | In this highly developed industrial world, the use of fluid machines cannot be ignored. One of the fluid machines is compressor. The use of compressor is to provide high pressurized gas which needed to support in industry activities or in the other application such as the use of gas turbine compressor for aircraft. Besides that, compressor is also used in power plant industry. This final project will discuss about designing an axial compressor’s impeller with 30 kg/s capacity and 6 compression ratio. <br />

This final project is refer to “Axial und Radialkompressoren” textbook by Bruno Eckert-Erwin Schnell as reference.The design process is start from determining condition state to determining the geometry of the blades . From the result of this design, technical drawing is made to make a further understanding about the shape of the blades. The conclusion is we need 9 stages axial compressor with 0,864 m outside diameter and diameter ratio from 0,57 to 0,828 to fulfill the requirements. The highest efficiency is occurred at 8th and 9th stage (96%). |
