Summary: | In this final project is to develop an integrated solar water heater with flat plate type. The design aims to improve the performance of an existing design. In addition, the design and manufacture of integrated solar water heater vertical cylinder type, as the basic design approach and integrated water heater comparison type flat plate. Efforts to improve the performance of integrated solar water heating flat plate type is done by adding the transparent cover on top of a storage tank-type solar water heater absorber. Making numerical simulations to determine the average water temperature that can be generated can simplify the design. A flat plate has been designed and tested integrated with the aim to get a solar water heater which is relatively cheap compared with the water heater solar system on the market. Then made an Integrated solar water heating system where hot water tank and absorber incorporated into one. Type of solar water heaters integrated flat plate consists of three blocks that have size (100x30x10) cm, so have the 90 liter volume. Tests carried out on the roof of the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Surya Bandung Institute of Technology with a height of about 10 meter. Based on testing, the water temperature is obtained, the approximate temperature of the output, an integrated type solar water heater flat plate at 48 oC in the afternoon on a high solar radiation and equitable . Performance improvement compared to previous designs is the 4.7% seen from the achievements of the water temperature. There is a difference between sample temperatures of 10.7 oC higher towards integrated solar water heater vertical cylinder type, this is because the projected area of absorber which is owned by an integrated solar water heater vertical cylinder type is smaller than the integrated solar water heating flat plate type. Numerical error when compared with testing under 3%. |
