Bearing defect in early stage can be detected by using several methods such as peakvue, Shock Pulse (SPM), and enveloping. But, mathematical proof of these methods has never been published due to copyright of each inventor. <br /> <br /> <br /> There are some methods to obtain ball bearing defect information. One of these methods is done by absolute operator vibration signal, before it is converted into frequency domain. But, this process cannot be mathematically proved due to non-linearity reason. In addition, this research includes simulation of ball bearing defect signal, which is processed by absolute and square method. Both methods are also applied to ball bearing defect signal data which is obtained through some experiments. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result of absolute and square operation resembles SPM, which can give information of bearing defect pattern in frequency domain. However, the difference of both methods is its amplitude. The amplitude shows that the result of absolute and square operation cannot always be compared to SPM. <br /> text
