Therefore, an innovation is needed to construct a solar water heater system for household purpose with an affordable cost. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this degree project, will be conducted a development on vertical cylinder type of integrated solar water heater. This design is aimed to increase the performance of existing design. Besides, it is also being conduct a design and a construction of flat plate solar water heater, as a design approach and as a comparator of integrated water heater. Increasing the performance of integrated solar water heater is done by adding a transparent cover on the top of absorberstorage tank. <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the experiment, it is found sample temperature, approximate output temperature, of integrated solar water heater as much as 37.3 oC at night. The improvement compared the previous design is 5%, observed from sample <br /> <br /> <br /> temperature. There is a difference in sample temperature as much as 20.87 oC lower than flat plate solar water heater, since absorber projection coverage of flat plate solar water heater is much wider than integrated solar water heater. text
