Indonesia Final Project INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/17741 The research was conducted in Sadang and the surrounding Area, Sadang District,Kebumen Region, Central Java with research area of approximately 48 km2.Geographically, the research area is located at 7o29'20'S - 7o32'35'S dan 109o42'15'E - 109o46'35'E The area is eomorphologically divided into 4 geomorphology units of Melange Complex Hills Unit, Homocline Valley Unit.Homoclinal Ridge Unit and Fluvial Plane Unit. Flow patterns of the reseach area are commonly rectangular, trellis and parallel. The research area stratigraphy consisting of four unofficial rock units, which was synchronized with the formation based on lithology characteristics in the field, are Luk Ulo Melange Complex Unit (Late Cretaceous – Paleocene), subsequently, tectonic contact boundary sedimentated Totogan Formation (Late Eocene – Early Oligocene). During this age, the existence of vulcanism was interpreted to affect the basaltic rock sedimentation in Totogan Formation, followed by consistent sedimentation of Waturanda Tuff Formation Member (Late Oligocene – Early Miocene) as a commencement of vulcanism phenomena in southern part of Java up to Waturanda Formation (Early Miocene – Middle Miocene), and Aluvial Deposit

(Holocene – Recent) as the youngest unit. Geological structure developing in the research area consisted of faults, folds, join, and cleavage. From structural analysis developing in the reseach area, it was concluded that the main affirmation direction causing the newest deformation in the research area has the direction of N-S to NNW-SSE. Based on the measured section in the chosen track that observed the relation between block to basic mass and inter-block contained in the Luk Ulo Melange Complex, was interpreted to have tectonic contacts of joint zone, scour zone, debris zone and cleavage plane related to the existence of boudinage, which give a strongdeformation impression in the research area. text
