One of the most common place where landslide happens is Ciloto Area, Puncak. Starting in 1988, the landslide subsides public road which was then followed by soil movement to more than 1.5 meters and triggered new landslide that ended up at the Cijember river. Beside to estimate the magnitude of avalanche, this study is also aimed to analize benefits of using Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) for landslide monitoring. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The fundamental principle of deformation and avalanche observations in the field of geodesy is to calculate the shift or displacement point or object of the observed points. Therefore, landslide observation using terrestrial laser scanner technology must have two observational data taken within a certain period to determine the landslide value. After both data pass through the registration process, filtering, and modeling, we can compare them to get the value of ground motion. The results, from six months (April 2012 - October 2012) data, it is found that the average of ground movement in Ciloto is about 4mm and maximum value is 13mm. It may indicate that soil erotion in Ciloto has been still ongoing until today. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> From this research, it can be concluded that monitoring using terrestrial laser scanner provides several benefits, such as monitoring can be done in a relatively short time and the results strongly represent the real movement of landslides. text
