To find out how vulnerable the villages in these district to coastal erotion, it is necessary to mapping coastal vulnerability index by coastal erotion in Muara Gembong. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Value of coastal vulnerability index obtained by classifying variable of coastal vulnerability index based on the value of the class and then the value of the class is multiplied by the value of the weight each variable. These variable defined into two, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> physical variables and non-physical variables. Physical variables consist of maximum tidal range, maximum current speed, significant wave height, dominant <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> wave angle to the coastline, the slope of topography, sediment type, land cover type, rainfall intensity, and average of wind speed. While the non-physical variables <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> consist of population density, economic value of land, value of land productivity, and value of location quotient (LQ). The results of calculation are present in tables and maps of coastal vulnerability index. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the research result, 3 (three) of 5 (five) coastal villages in district of Muara Gembong are in vulnerable conditions based on physical variables and combination variables of physical and non-physical. If based on non-physical variables, all the coastal villages in Muara Gembong are in vulnerable conditions. text
