To study the effect of compression pressure on compressive strength of coal model, it had been studied by Lunder and Pakalnis (1997). Research carried out by <br /> <br /> <br /> apllying pressure on the rib pillar compression with variated ratio w/h. On the ratio w/h smaller than 1, given relatively constant compression pressure regardless of the horizontal insitu stress. On pillar with ratio w/h greater than 1, insitu horizontal stress <br /> <br /> <br /> affects the compression pressure on the pillar. <br /> <br /> <br /> Research on compression pressure on the coal pillar done at the laboratory using sample of coal from Satui PT Arutmin Indonesia mines by doing uniaxial test and the <br /> <br /> <br /> true triaxial test of coal samples until failure. The specimens used in this study is formed a square with a high specific sample. The ratio w/h of coal specimen to be tested at 0.5. Based on analysis and processing data obtained that the increases the value of compression strength of coal specimen along with the addition of compression pressure on the specimen. text
