Studies related to the general criteria for determining shoreline carried out to the legal terms into a technical application. It will be implemented on the ground. Shoreline becomes a reference to determine how far the sea area is claimed by a State. Determination of the direction of the shoreline began in interest to determine claims against thet ocean that can be utilized by the State. Rules on withdrawal of the shoreline has been formulated in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982 chapter 7, which consists of 6 verses. Chapter 7 of UNCLOS in 1982 did not describe in detail the technical specifications in the field. UNCLOS only set a general criteria are interpreted liberally, so that application in the field are often different each other. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> With the depth study, it is expected that there is uniformity in the application of the law as agreed by all parties. There by reducing the potential for conflict that caused differences in the perception of withdrawal baseline. To achieve this, several parameters need to be added as reference in the determination of straight baselines, especially the problems of conformity with the general direction of the shoreline.
