The rheologi characteristic of asbuton has its plus and minus as its function as pavement binder. Its characteristic still in research phase until now. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Pavement system has main function to bear load and distribute to the subgrade, this behaviour called structural performance of pavement system. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) asphalt mixture is known as a good structural performance pavement. On this research, SMA used as asphalt mixture bounded with asphalt penetration 60/70 and with adding full bitumen asbuton 3% of total asphalt mix mass. The research using two aggregate gradation with British Standard Spesification. The structural performance of SMA asphalt Mixture with adding 3% asbuton showed better performance compared to SMA asphalt Mixture with no adding of asbuton. For gradation D=5mm, the structural performance showed better to use asbuton 3 % than use no asbuton, although for gradation D=22.4mm, the SMA asphalt Mixture with asbuton 3% does not give any significant change compared to SMA asphalt mixture with no asbuton. But, from four combinations of SMA asphalt mixture, known that adding asbuton 3% to asphalt penetration 60/70 give better and durable asphalt mixture. text
