Summary:Limited land and to balance the needs of homes for increasingly lower middle income communities, required an appropriate building method as one of the considerations that determine the speed of the building process and cost-efficient construction in multi storey low cost housing. Multi storey low cost housing development in Indonesia use conventional building and prefabrication building methods. This time in the Jakarta area, the construction of multi storey low cost housing more often use prefabrication building methods, caused by using prefabrication method build is more efficient than using conventional building method. While for the construction of multi storey low cost housing outside Jakarta, many development of multi storey low cost housing building still use conventional building method, because the reliability of the workforce in this building method is still available much outside Jakarta. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Research method used is archival research method, namely by using the records of the implementation of construction projects such as contract documents, working drawings and final report development projects of Cengkareng multi storey low cost housing. Project documents were analyzed by using the calculation of precedent diagrams method and the value concept to determine the execution time performance of the construction of Cengkareng multi storey low cost housing. While to know the performance of construction costs using a calculation of labor productivity and the concept of value. From the results of the analysis concluded that the building speed aspect which has an efficient schedule performance is prefabrication building methods. While the aspect of construction costs which have a cost effective performance is conventional building methods.
