There are several equipments in the custom ceremonies <br /> performance, one of wich is called Carano. <br /> A Carano is a container containing completeness of betel, areca nuts, <br /> gambier, and lime, as well as dulamak - the Carano cap closth. Being <br /> Carano and it completeness in a custom ceremony is vital. If the Carano <br /> and it completeness are not applied, the custom ceremony cannot to be <br /> performed. The Carano have specific meaning in a custom ceremony in <br /> that beauty, shape, motives, and completeness, honored by certain <br /> persons in parable words. <br /> The Carano and completeness have complex senses in the Minangkabau <br /> ethnic group culture. It is containing a variety of meanings closely in <br /> relation to Islamic law - based traditional tenets and philosophy. In such a <br /> custom ceremony the Batagak Pangulu, Carano is a leadership symbol. <br /> The leadership symbol is made an anlogy of Rajo, the truth. Thus, in the <br /> meeting of Pangulu inauguration, the Carano symbolize a strength or force <br /> i n making concensus and decisions as a result of the meeting. Both <br /> concensus and decision generated in such meeting a ratified by Carano. <br /> Meanwhile, Carano in a wedding ceremony is reflecting men honors <br /> deeply women, on the contrary, the Carano shows how women are <br /> responsible for men. So in such a wedding ceremony the Carano <br /> represents a the Minangkabau relationship system. <br /> Moreover, the Carano form and completeness have a symbolism closely in <br /> relation to the Minangkabau traditional philosophy. Meanings contained in <br /> the Carano completeness is a communication symbol in the community in <br /> comformity wish traditional tenets. The Carano shape is a symbol of <br /> reasonings or life philosophy coming from alam takambang jadi guru. <br /> Furthermore, in the Carano from structure have a meaning in relation to <br /> tenets, regulations, based on basandi syarak, syarak basandi kibullah <br /> tradition. <br /> Thus, we may drawn a conclusion that Carano is symbol of the <br /> Minangkabau ethnic group tradition, it is a set of reasionings put on <br /> symbols in the Carano. text
