ACCOMODATE CREATIVE COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES RESPONSE TO THE ENVIRONMENT IN ASIA AFRICA REGION

Bandung City has a variety of inviting potential emergence of creative communities and proved to contribute significantly to the economy of the city, but its management is not optimal. Bandung City Government provides support for the procurement of events that involve creative communities are only temporary. Creative community needs the facility to do the activities, expression, bring out the ideas for more productive in their daily lives. Therefore, it takes a creative center, public space and quality urban physical infrastructure.The purpose of this research is to produce a concept plan and design simulation Asia Africa that accommodates the local creative community activities. This study refers to the design with explanatory technique which studies the theory and case studies as well as a description of the interpretation of the data collected as a reference in the design area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Data about the condition of the creative community in Bandung and literature study shows that to support the creative climate in a region needed a conducive atmosphere psychologically, responsive to environmental conditions, facilitate social activities, maintaining cultural heritage and also consider the economic prospects of creative activities that will be contained. Asia-Africa region was chosen because it represents the city's cultural heritage as a historic district but it almost lost its identity as the center of town because of the condition of some heritage buildings are abandoned and no longer work. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Creative region is closely related to public activity, because the perpetrators are not only creative but also community people in Bandung.That requires the design principles associated with the need for human comfort as the main component of harmony with the environment. Design principles in the form of guidelines governing the space segment and its components based on the theory of environment-responsive region.
