The development of information technology through the internet make it easy for teachers to obtain various types of learning media including visual learning media that can assist teachers in overcoming the limitations of facilities and the limited ability of teachers to provide learning media. In this exploratory study focused on geometrical optics pembelajaranvisual media obtained from various sources of web sites by focusing research on the suitability of materials and media to the learning objectives so that teachers can choose the right media to use in the learning proces. The results showed that the media is needed in learning because students are able to understand the concepts of physics very well through the use of visual media geometrical optics and even 86.6 % of students want to use the same type of media not only for learning the material optical geometry. Therefore, in choosing visual learning media need to pay attention to the accuracy of the information to be conveyed through the media as well noteworthy because based on the finding that almost 25% of visual media in the form of a simulation with an explanation of the concept containing misconceptions.
