Historic monument or statue present a symbol to commemorate the historic, enhancer city aesthetic, motivator society, and respect for the hero. The existence of historic monuments and sculptures should be preserved. Preservation of historical monuments or statues can be done by 3D reconstruction using technology of Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS). TLS is a laser scanner technology which strongly supports 3D re- modeling shape of man-made. Data collection was conducted in September 2013 in Jakarta with the “statue of the Youth” as scanned objects. Five stations were deployed around the statue area using scan all features and high resolution scans . Scanned data collected in the form of point clouds that certain coordinate value . Steps taken to implement the 3D modeling of this object is data registation , filtering,and 3D modeling using Geomagic software. Registration process to generate 3D model produced an average error value of 0 - 0.004 m. The 3D model still contain some hole due to less density of a scanned point clouds. It can be solve by using filling hole tool. In addition there is a hole in a 3D model around the upper part of the statue, between the fire and container that are disconnected due to statue height. This part produced a blindspot, represent an area that cannot be scanned during data acutistion. In the results the height of statue is 17.169 m form fire to foot statue, 23 039 m for fire to the bottom of the statue, wide 494 811 m2, and volume 164 709 m3.Gap at the top of the statue can be filled by using the add vertices tool. Final result of this research is a 3D model of “statue of the youth”.
