This process based on the electrolysis of the dissolved compounds in the water. These compounds are salts of sulfate and carbonate affecting water hardness. This research studied the influence of direct current voltage that CaCO3 electrosorpsion affects to determine the optimum conditions of decreasing conductivity. In this research, the direct current voltage is 12 V and the most significant decrease in conductivity occurs during electrodeposition process lasted 5 minutes, with the electrode distance of 3 cm , and the area of dipped electrode sheet by 5.2 cm2. The same study was also performed on samples taken from Laboratorium Gelombang Teknik Kelautan ITB by using the optimum time of CaCO3 electrosorpsion. The sample has been showed a decreasing trend of conductivity. In contrast to the sample that mixed with normal liquid, it has been showed an increment of conductivity value between electrodes before it was decreased when electrified stops and also filtration has been conducted by using a membrane to reduce the possibility of organic compounds that may cause conduction in the system due to it were used simple cells which were different with EWP cells used. Based on the identification sample research, data obtain at pH 7.4; conductivity at 140.2 s cm-1; TDS at 7.9 ppm; and TSS at 0.97 ppm. TSS component analysis couldn’t be determined because the TSS spectrum didn’t appear on infrared spectroscopy analysis. While metal analysis using atomic absorption spectroscopy showed the concentration of Na, K, Fe, Ca, and Mn at 10 ppm;19.47 ppm; 4.22 ppm; 30.56 ppm; and 0.07 ppm. text |
