ANALYSIS OF SLOPE STABILITY LAND MINE ALLUVIAL TIN DEPOSITE

Processes associated with alluvial tin mining in open pit mines or land mines, slope stability problem will appear on the working slope and final slope. This is because the existing slopes on the land mines of tin deposits is generally a material that is composed of various types of soil layers that have great potencial for avalanches, especially circular failure. Therefore, slope stability necessary to prevent the danger of avalanches that might happen. For slope stability study analysis study for land mine alluvial tin deposits which the condition of each layer is relatively flat, slope stability analysis was performed on 2 (two ) section overall created based on the location of sampling. The first is the cross section is made of soil sampling location on the TB (Big Pit) Mawas 2 and the second section is the cross section of soil sampling locations on the TB (major mining) Nudur 3. Position of the first section located on the northern section of the second and each section is only found in one pit alone. The method used in analyzing the slope stability is the limit equilibrium method using SLIDE program ver.5.0 of Rockscience as a tool for modeling and calculation. Slope stability analysis is performed by taking into account various factors that affect slope stability, including data on laboratory testing Single slope analysis results showed that the general geometry of a single slope in the field showed a stable or safe for any material except for material showing fined sand slope instability such as the occurrence of landslide, so the slope which consist of fine sand material shall be reduced to a stable geometry. Meanwhile, for the overall slope on both of the cross section can safely be said the mining trough this section can be performed safely until the end of the pit. And problems that typically can reduce slope stability at both sites are located at the ground water so that the necessary treatment of ground waterfor example by pumping water out of the pit. text
