Composition of heavy metal was determined from the soil and the roots because it contains heavy metal at higher probability due to the pollutants found in its habitat. The heavy metals that were analyzed are iron, lead, cadmium, copper and zinc. Sample destructed was done by dry ashing method in which the heavy metals were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) through calibration curve method. The moistures, ashes, and silica components were analyzed by gravimetric method. The results of determination were than compared using the samples in which contains no heavy metal contaminants as a reference. The result shows that cassava from Leuwi Gajah landfill contains significant heavy metals composition compared by the reference. text |
