Axial loading test of 9 instrumented bored piles with pile tip at very stiff clay to hard silty ciay showed that end bearing resistance not mobilized at 200 % working load. Skin friction resistance mobilized at small displacement, about 0.4 % d to 1.9 % d. Test load on axial loading test of 1 model long bored pile (Lid = 13.8) and 3 model short bored pile (Lid = 8) with pile tip at end bearing layer, only carried by end bearing resistance, because skin friction resistance eliminated with silicon oil lubrication. The load test showed that end bearing resistance mobilized at large dispalcement, about 5 % d for long bored pile and 18 % d to 30 % d for short bored pile. Large displacement is required to fully mobilize end bearing resistance of long bored pile and short bored pile. End bearing resistance from load test only a half of end bearing resistance based on empirical equation. text
