Stratigraphically, the research area are divided into four unofficial units which are, old to young, Sandstone Unit, Limestone Unit, Sandstone-Siltstone Unit, and Alluvial Unit. Sandstone Unit may correlates to Malinau Formation. Limestone Unit and Sandstone-Siltstone Unit may correlate to Sembakung Formation. The geological structure which are present in the field are dipping of bedding, folding which consist of anticline with fold axis heading NE-SW, and two strike slip faults which are Upthrown Dextral Fault heading W-E and Upthrown Sinistral Fault heading NW-SE. Those geological structure are predicted to happen because of tectonic activity during Plio-Pleistocene with compressive force heading NW-SE. The geological history of the area began on Middle Eocene, where Sandstone Unit were form, then during Late Eocene the Limestone unit were deposited conformably, after that the Sandstone-Siltstone Unit were deposited interfingeringly with Limestone Unit. And then, the tectonic activity which happen Plio-Pleistocene caused the geological structure. The geological process continue erotionally that deposited Alluvial Unit and forming morphological landscape which are seen and present today. text
