<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Currently, regional cooperation in waste management has become a necessity for every region. Waste management paradigm that relies on final approach should have been replaced with a new paradigm for waste management. The new paradigm views waste as a resource with economic value and can be used, for example, for energy, compost, fertilizer or raw material for industry. Inter-regional cooperation is built based on the interaction between cooperating regions and the need to investigate how the interaction between stakeholders are formed in a pattern of regional cooperation particularly in the metropolitan area of Bandung. To address these problems the implementation of this research is guided by the following research questions: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> - How an interaction is formed in regional cooperation in waste management sector among stakeholders in areas of Bandung Metropolitan? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> - How stakeholders at district and provincial authorities the view inter-regional cooperation? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> - How the cooperation can benefit the parties involved? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method that will give an idea of how the formation process of cooperation among stakeholders involved. The research results show the inter-regional cooperation in the field of waste management in Bandung Metropolitan Region. In the constructed cooperation, there has been a strong shared basic need. The constructed cooperation however, has not fully met the basic principles of cooperation. Political gesture to show a strong commitment from local leaders is needed to realize the good cooperation relations. Well constructed commitment and trust will put up reciprocity between the parties cooperating well. Cooperation scheme involving the private sector can improve waste management alternatives performed in the joint waste management. In addition, the Provincial Government's role is still very central to bridge the cooperation established among the town district. Inter-regional cooperation in Bandung Metropolitan Area still opens for further development. Establishment of waste management cooperation can be developed through the development of public areas in a joint waste management in which there are public interests and private sectors engaged in waste management with investment <br />
