The sun ray that falls on the building's facade, is reflected, absorbed by the facade, and continued to the indoor. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This research explains the performance of the double-glazed make a better condition of the indoor thermal environment, through the measurement of the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> outside and inside surface temperature of the glass. The researcher assumes that the performance of the double-glazed is better than the single-glazed, due to the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> system decreases the calor transmission through the combination of reflection, convection mechanism in the space between two glasses, and the heat absorption <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> by glass material. The temperature measurement of the outside and inside surface in every model was done in the climate chamber, where the radiation from the sun is simulated by some lamps, and the surface temperature measured by thermocouple with 0.1°C accuracy in every 10 minutes until the surface temperature stable. The measurement result shows that the usage of reflective glass more optimal if it is placed at the outside and inside of the double-glazed. Moreover, the air gap <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> gives bigger obstacle to the calor transmission if the gap is wider and/or occured an air flow in the gap. This reasearch still needs a further trusting confirm value <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> of the performance double-glazed façade, if it used at a building. text |
