Research areas of interest in this final project is the Halmahera Sea,Halmahera sea is directly adjacent to the western Pacific Ocean in the area where there is always a barrier layer. The existence of this barrier layer will affect the oceanographic conditions in the sea. The method used to determine the depth of ILD is &#916;T of 0.5oC and for MLD is &#916;&#961; of 0,125 <br /> <br /> <br /> kg m-3. The results obtained from this study is that there is always a barrier layer on the Halmahera Sea, but with varying thickness over a span of five years (2006-2010), maximum thickness 50 m and minimum 2 m. The thickness of barrier layer on the east season is always <br /> <br /> <br /> thicker than the other seasons, because of the east season the wind speed is greater than the other <br /> <br /> <br /> seasons. The Impact is given by the La Nina is thicken the barrier layer, while the El Nino will <br /> <br /> <br /> dilute the barrier layer. text
