It lay in 453636,67 mE – 457514,53 mE and 130000 – 133672,36 mE (UTM) within 13,22 km2. This research consist of geological mapping with 12.500 on scale, coal resources calculating, and coal proximate analysis which have purpose to know geological condition, correlation of geological condition with coal characterization, and coal resources potential (quality and quantity). Research area is hills with swamp in its valley. Embung River is main river which have been laid in west part and has north – south flow orientation. East region of research area is stacked of calcareous claystone with bioclast limestone intercalate. Its strike & dip indicate anticline form. West part one is stacked of sandstone with claystone and coal intercalate. Its strike & dip indicate sincline form. Into the bargain, geological setting of research area has been controlled by transform fault and laharic breccia presence which have erosional contact to sandstone and calcareous claystone. Generally, coal has black colour, greasy – dull lustre, choncoidal – irregular fracture and is included to Sub – Bituminous B (ASTM,1993) with 0,21 m – 4,43 m thickness. Coal exist as sandstone intercalate, with claystone as top and bottom coal strata. Based on coal strata continuity and its physical character (colour, lustre, streak, & fracture), coal strata can be devided into three seam which its dissemination was controlled by fold/sincline , transform fault and stratigraphy factor. By using USGS (United States Geological Survey) Circular Method, coal resources in research area can be determined with result 2.276.820,784 ton measured resources and 10.245.644,83 ton indicated resources. text
