Control to Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) is a real thing necessary for international world and also Indonesia as an effort to eliminate the bad effect from <br /> <br /> <br /> usage of illegal weapon. Issue SALW becomes very importance for Indonesia related to distortion of security and safety in some areas, like Aceh, Maluku, and Papua that swallows many soul victims. But, not all conflict problems can be solve good, especially in arms control, like the existence illegal weapon in Aceh. <br /> <br /> <br /> Research about control of SALW in Aceh until now is rarely find, because most of research are related with military operation issue, human right issue, or process of Aceh reintegration to Indonesia. Control of SALW in Aceh becomes more important than other provinces in Indonesia, because Aceh was the biggest and longest conflict area in Indonesia. Second, number of crimes or criminality with using small arms was dramatically increasing after decommissioning process, also potential small arms black market in this region. This research is using qualitative methodology, and categorized as descriptive research. This thesis is using primary and secondary data, such as interview with institutions and people that related with small arms control in Indonesia. Secondary data source are reference books, newsletter, articles, and internet. Finally, there are two big problems that still exist in Aceh. First, potential illegal arms that still owned by Aceh People, and transparency and corruption of reintegration aid that should give to former GAM Soldier. This thesis expected able to become material for policy taker in coming, especially governmental in handling of SALW in region post conflict. This thesis also gives recommendation to all importance stakeholder in taking related policy controlled SALW in Aceh.
