Summary:Research is conducted in Muara Ritan Village and surrounding area which is <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> included into District Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan Province. Based on the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> UTM coordinate, the research area is located in 377970 – 394940 mT and 42710 – <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 48540 mU UTM wgs 84 zone 50. The area is approximately 102 Km2 (17 Km X 6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Km). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The research area is divided into five geomorphological units based on the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> BMB classification, these are Fold Ridge Unit, Plain Interridge Unit, Intrusion Ridge <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Unit, Homocline Ridge Unit, Alluvial Deposit Unit. The stratigraphy of research area <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> from the oldest consist of Conglomerate-Sandstone Unit, Sandstone-Mudstone Unit, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Mudstone Unit, Limestone Unit, Tuff Unit. Geological Struktur which is formed in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> research area have orientations of Northeast-Southwest and Northwest-Southeast, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> that consist of Fold structure and Strike-Slip Structure. these geological structure are <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> result of primary stress trending North - South. Geological history began by <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> depositioning of Conglomerate-Sandstone Unit until Limestone Unit at Middle <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Eocene – Late Eocene. At Plio-Pleistocene, Tuf Unit is formed because of Kelian <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Mountain’s Eruption. Then there is intrusion event in the research area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Batu Kelau Formation which is related to Sandstone-Mudstone unit in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> research area is deposited in Estuarine environment. Facies association of Batu Kelau <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Formation that is exposed in research area is divided into three part, these are Lower <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Part, Middle Part, Upper Part. The Lower Part consist of Estuarine Channel facies. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Middle Part consist of Estuarine Channel, Sandflat, Mudflat, Mixflat, Marsh, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Tidal Flat, Tidal Creeks facies. The Upper Part consist of Tidal Channel facies.
