Smelting is a final step of integrated mining activities at PT Timah (Persero) Tbk. The success of smelting process will be resulting in tin metal selling as company revenue. In realization activities always face some operational risk that will deviate from the smelting objective. The influence of the risk impact is the increasing of the smelting cost and lowering tin metal recovery. The information data of the level on possibility and impact operational risk are acquired by questionnaire distributed to the smelting staff which have enough understanding of smelting process. The analysis is conducted by mapping the risk’s possibility and impact to asseses the priority handling as the base of management concerned.The output of study are continuity smelting operation with controllable cost and as preliminary study to develop operational risk management in Metallurgy Unit – PT Timah ( Persero ) Tbk. <br />
