Research conducted in Kecamatan Hatungun, Kabupaten Binuang or exactly 3o 08’ 18,5682”-3 o 09’ 37,8085” S and 115 o 09’ 44,1288”-155 o 08’ 46,0785” E, which part of Barito Basin edge. Barito Basin goes through long and complex geological history. Within this basin, there are several thick coal bearing formations.There are three geomorphological units divide in this area, which divided based on its morphological and geological feature, there are Aluvial Plain Unit, Folded Mountains Unit and Complex Hills. Based on surface geological data, ten geological units have been divided. Mainly they divided to Basement Rocks which contain Granite Unit, Grey Limestone Unit, Red Mudstone Unit, Andesite Unit, Breccia Unit and Dacite unit; and sedimentary rock units which contain Sandstone Unit, Mudstone Unit and White Limestone Unit. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Geological structures developed in research area are NNE-SSW oriented, which associated with Meratus High orientation in form of normal fault near Batuperahu and Gunungbatu Village; reverse fault near Tarungin Village and folds near Batangbanyu Village which express compressional regime. The NW-SE oriented dextral strike-slip fault occur during compressional regime which cross-cut the normal faults of Gunungbatu and Batuperahu, reverse fault of Tarungin and folds of Batangbanyu.Cleat anisotropies are mostly happen in coal bed and they occur both horizontally and vertically. Based on field experience, vertical cleat anisotropies are occur because compositional contrast. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Orientation of cleats in research area are perpendicular to jurus of bedding where the cleats are measured, commonly WWN-EES. They are different cleat characteristic for each of measuring locations. This may be happened because of the different outcrop exposure age, because during outcropping, coal will be dehydrated which can form fracture. text |
