Medco Methanol Bunyu is one of the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> subsidiary companies of PT. Medco Energi Internasional Tbk. The company seeks to become a good company in the energy field, whereas its mission is to develop sources of potential energy into beneficial investment. In achieving the mission, the company considers suppliers selection as an important factor in supporting daily operational.In relation to the suppliers selection system, that is carried out by the Department of Procurement, the company experiences several problems. First, the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) used by PT. Medco Methanol Bunyu is not <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> yet ideal. Second, the weighting method that is carried out against KPI available <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> is not yet accurate, in fact each criterion must be carried out through details weighting, so the company will receive the maximal output.Third, the supplier <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> selection method is not effective and efficient. Fourt, the supplier data is not accurate. In this project, the design of suppliers selection method for PT. Medco Methanol Bunyu, is proposed based on the methodology by Fred David (1997) from concept of strategic management as mentioned by Colwell, Friedmann & Carmichael (2000), involving seven steps. First, define the key criteria for <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> selecting a vendor. Second, define a weighting scale to separate individual criteria importance. The determination of the weight size in each criterion carried out by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method (AHP). Third, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> define a rating scale to measure the vendor success per criterion. The rating scale in this article carried out is based on the recommendation that is given by Colwell, Friedmann & Carmichael (2000). Fourth, identify the critical criteria that must meet a minimum score. Fifth,allow for criteria knowledge gaps among the voting practitioners. Six, fine tune criteria definitions with all voting members and vendor. Seven, obtain buy-in from senior management. In this final project, there are also recommendation for several matters that are related to the performance appraisal of the company, that is concerning the implementation plan of the proposed supplier selection method, also the difference between the supplier selection method that is being proposed and the current supplier selection method.
