Description
Summary:Research area is located in Karangpucung and Ciporos District, Cilacap Regency, Central of Java, Indonesia. This research was carried out within area approximately 36 km2 and geographically located at UTM (WGS 84, zone 49S) 266000 – 272000 mT and 9178000 – 9184000 mU. The research method conducted is geological mapping method including field data collection and supported by laboratory analysis, in order to produce traverse and sample location map, geomorphological map, geological map, structural geology map and stratigraphic column.

Geomorphological units of research area consist of Gunung Karang Limestone Isolated Hill Unit, Karangpucung Folds Hills Unit and Cirajayu Aluvial Plain Unit. Stratigraphy of research area consist of four lithological unit which are, Limestone Unit (Karang Limestone Halang Formation) , Sandstone – Claystone Unit (Halang Formation), Claystone - Sandstone Unit (Tapak Formation), and Aluvial Deposits Unit. Geological structures formed in research area comprised of folds and faults structures. Fold structures consist of Cijanggot Anticline, Dermadji Sincline, and Kaliblisuk Sincline. Fault structures consist of one thrust fault and two strike-slip faults which are Sengkala Reverse Right Slip Fault, Citandu Sinistral Normal Fault and Pangkalan Sinistral Normal Fault. Mechanism of geological structure formation in research area has NE – SW direction, using fault propagation fold development model.
