Currently, PT Krakatau Steel (Persero), Tbk “PTKS”, PTKS is facing serious problems in relation with workforce condition, indicated by high employee turnover, low workforce productivity and high number of employees without work. In the same time, the company also needs high number of workforce to support its business growth strategy. <br /> <br /> <br /> This study focuses on the analysis of workforce planning, especially how to align workforce planning with company strategy to improve productivity. PTKS has set a target of productivity and number of workforce. Referring to productivity target in the corporate strategy, number of workforce set to be 5000 people in 2015. There are two major factors of workforce planning to achieve the target, which are the reduction factor and the addition factor. Reduction factors include employee retirement, employee termination and employee assignment and early retirement program. Addition factors are includes recruitment, temporary worker, and withdrawal of employee assignment.
