Along with the times, the need for availability of adequate transportation infrastructure is also becoming increasingly high. Road infrastructure facilities is one of the most strategic transport infrastructure. To maintain its performance, then the road infrastructure needs to be managed such that the condition can be maintained as closely as possible with the optimum funding. <br /> <br /> <br /> One innovative form of contract to be discussed is the form of contract Design-Build-Operation-Maintain, which is often referred to as the Performance Based Contract (PBC). PBC is a type of contract that bases payment on the fulfillment of minimum performance indicators. Implementation of PBC requires a shift in work culture, be it a street organizer as service users, service providers, and society as road users. <br /> <br /> <br /> General purpose implementation of PBC is to ensure the quality of the output to fit the desired owner and reduce the costs incurred by both service users and service providers. Based on these objectives, the working of the PBC project is different from the traditional contract method has been applied to road projects in Indonesia. Some differences include a longer contract period (should be multi-years), the risk of failure is borne by the performance of service providers / service users as agreed in the sharing of risks, and pre-qualification stage which takes more time during the auction process
