Summary: | Asian Highway and Trans Asian Railway is one of the efforts undertaken in the countries of Asia to improve access to transport goods between countries, particularly to Asian countries that do not have access to the sea. This study aims to build a model of the international movement of goods in the region of
Southeast Asia. By building a model that represents the movement of goods in Southeast Asia and centered on Indonesia, is expected to assist in the evaluation of transportation network development in Indonesia. Modeling in this study was using STAN, multiproduct-multimodal software, in determining the movement of goods and determining the modal choice. STAN uses
mincost principle in the selection of modes, by minimizing the total generalized cost (the total amount of vehicle operating costs, the cost of loading and unloading, the value of time and other costs) to move goods from origin to destination. Data obtained from the export-import data of ASEAN countries in 2009. This data is used as a reference in determining the base year of this modeling study. The results of this study suggest that implementation of the Asian Highway and Trans Asian Railway has less effect on the movement of goods in Indonesia. |
