An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has a fundamental role in today‟s organizations in helping a company to improve its efficiency, productivity and transparency. Nevertheless, ERP costs a significant investment for an organization. The ERP implementation acts as a key pillar and a transformational channel for IAe. ERP drives IAe to improve its business process. To achieve its promising benefit, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Indonesian Aerospace or IAe) has invested IDR 90 billion for the implementation. The ERP went live successfully within 15 months. However, ERP is still largely perceived as operating tools rather than management tools. As a result, IAe has not yet received its maximum benefits. Many organization need to re-implement ERP due to the failure in balancing between the conflicting technological, organizational and human resource requirements. <br />

The aim of this study is to explore the role of change management and to propose potential strategies of change management that have an impact on the effectiveness of ERP implementation. The study applied Kotter`s 8-steps change framework as a checklist for evaluation process combined with the DICE framework score, which focused on the tangible aspects of change initiatives such as duration, integrity of performance, commitment and effort. The framework identified impact, drivers and specific change management initiatives. The study was conducted through qualitative approach by applying in-depth interviews and focus group discussion with the selected employees from the ERP core implementation team. However, the need of questionnaire survey is required to find the effectiveness of ERP in accordance with the DICE framework. <br />

The DICE score result showed that the ineffectiveness of ERP implementation due to the lack sense of urgency within an organization. In addition, the study does not only considers change management as a bridge between solutions and results, but also as an obstacle when new changes have to be understood and managed in a way which people might not always be able to cope with new changes. In sum, how well the company manages change is a key source of competitive advantage that helps an organization to survive by maintaining company effectiveness through its strategic change initiatives. <br />

This study makes a contribution by enhancing the understanding of change management through ERP implementation. It provides lessons that could be benefecial in evaluating ERP implementation and how theory can be applied in practice. Organization may implement the practical tools from Kotter`s 8-steps along with DICE framework to improve an effectiveness of the change initiatives. The proposed change initiatives improvements apply 7S Mckinsey framework. This is to enhance the organizational effectiveness and to embed the successful of ERP implementation as a culture. <br />
