This block covers most of South-east Asia that is the region of Indo-China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Java and the shallow seas located in between (Sunda block). Motion behavior of a block can be defined from the Euler rotation and seismic slip vector (elastic deformation). GPS network data in South-east Asia regional is used in this study to estimate Euler rotation parameters of Sunda block. Euler rotation parameters consist of Euler poles and angular velocity. GPS observation stations used in estimating the Euler rotation parameters are GPS observation stations that represent Sunda block rotation zones. The model velocities in each GPS observation stations can be obtained by doing forward calculation. Further, local deformation pattern that has been free from the effects of the block rotation can be determined from the residual velocities vector. The difference between this study and previous studies is in this research, the estimation of the Euler rotation parameters derived from the velocities vector in ITRF (International Terrestrial Reference Frame) 2008 and the density of GPS observation stations used more detail.

The best Euler rotation parameter solutions of Sunda block in this study is obtained (latitude Euler pole) is 46.202 0.620 ºN, (longitude Euler pole) is -85.899 0.256 ºE, and (angular velocity) is 0.370 0.004 º/million years. Euler rotation parameter estimation results of Sunda block indicate that Sunda block rotates counter clockwise at velocities of 25-35 mm/years. text
